Optional Fees

In addition to Tuition and Housing, many students and families add the Stipend Plan and Dynamy/Clark University courses to their Dynamy experience.

Stipend Plan
The Stipend Plan is $150 per week to cover daily living expenses, such as food, laundry, transportation, and entertainment. Dynamy disburses the Stipend each week to support students in learning budgeting and financial management skills. Students who participate in the Stipend plan do not need an individual bank account. There is a small administrative fee of $25 per semester; 90-100% of students participate in the Stipend Plan each year.

Clark University Seminars
Through our partnership with Clark University’s Office of Professional and Continuing Education, we offer 3 College Seminars during the full Internship Year. Tuition for each is $1350. Each course is a 1-unit course (the equivalent of 4 credit hours).

Financial Aid

We are proud of our demonstrated commitment to financial assistance for students in need. We award need-based aid based on the School and Student Service for Financial Aid form (SSS), available at: School & Student Services. The Dynamy code is 2938.

Dynamy affirms the guarantee of equal opportunity for both staff and interns, without discrimination for reasons of race, ethnic background, religious belief, sex or handicap.

529 Funds

Gap year programs can be a gray area for 529 funds.  While Dynamy is not a traditional academic program we can confirm that 529 funds can be used for our onsite Clark University courses.  For the Clark course families will pay for the course out of pocket and then submit for reimbursement through their fund.

Outside of the Clark courses Dynamy has had families use their 529 funds to cover the tuition cost of Dynamy but we cannot speak to whether they incurred any tax penalties (we don’t ask families).   If you are interested in using a 529 fund to cover the tuition costs at Dynamy we would suggest reaching out to whomever manages your 529 account to inquire because every fund works differently.  We are happy to answer any questions that a fund manager has about Dynamy as we are a structured, long standing, gap year program.

International Students

Over the past decade, a number of international students have attended Internship Year, usually for a semester or a year prior to attending college in the United States. Though we do not currently have a procedure for obtaining visas for students who are not US citizens, we will be happy to provide any documentation that might assist in securing visas.

Read some of our frequently asked questions

What if I don’t know what internships I want to do?

Don’t worry! We hear this often. Many students coming into Dynamy are unsure of their internship path or even where they want to start. Dynamy has a trusted team of advisors that can help you navigate the process and find an internship that will be a good fit for you. Part of Internship Year is exploration and gaining a better understanding of your interest and passions.

What is the age range for Dynamy?

Dynamy students are 17-22 years old. Many students attend Dynamy right after graduating high school- others come after a few semesters of college. Whatever your recent path may be, you should apply if you feel ready! The most important factor for a successful Internship Year is the motivation to work with supportive advisors, like-minded peers, and real-world internships.

Can you help me figure out next steps after Dynamy?

We understand transitions can be hard, especially trying to make plans for next steps. Dynamy advisers work with students throughout the year to discuss and assist with future planning. Additionally, Dynamy has a part-time college counselor on our team to help students navigate the college process from individual classes to colleges and universities.
