Support Services

We believe that every person learns differently from the next. Our personalized approach takes this into account from the very beginning, and our program’s design, which includes weekly Workshops and Advising, ensures that all students acquire or strengthen important life skills. We also know that some students need specific support services for common issues such as Learning Disabilities (LD), AD\HD, mild anxiety, etc. We provide our students such support, while also making sure that any diagnosis does not itself define them here, but is treated as one piece of their life’s own complex puzzle. We know from experience that our unique blend of hands-on, real world experiences and personalized support produces powerful results for students with an LD, AD\HD, etc., including transitioning confidently to higher education following Dynamy.

Sometimes the support may simply be an accommodation in one or two program areas, other times an individual can receive additional instruction on specific skills, such as an extra weekly session on Personal Organization for someone with executive functioning challenges. Other students augment the support they receive at Dynamy with an individual therapist, especially if they have had this support at home. Dynamy connects families to local therapists when appropriate. No matter the individual student’s needs and educational goals, once enrolled, we tailor a personal set of services and expectations for each student, including their post-Dynamy plan (see Transition to Higher Education for more information).  This plan involves the input of our staff, the student and his/her family. We review it throughout the year and adjust it when necessary.
