Internships and SponsorsDynamy interns work in a broad range of welcoming settings throughout the city: arts and culture, business, government, education, environmental impact, human services, the media and more. Click here to see a sample of more than 240 Dynamy Internship Sites! You'll discuss your interests with your advisor, interview at a couple of sites, and choose the internship site that you’ll attend four days a week during the trimester. Full year students may choose to explore different aspects of a single interest, such as art, over their two or three internships, or try diverse areas, such as teaching, environmental work, or graphic design. Either way, you get directly involved at your internship - whether that's going to court with a lawyer or collecting fish scale samples with a wildlife scientist. You learn to work with a professional team, to take on new experiences and learn actively; and, you will be challenged by increased responsibilities. All the while the Dynamy educational staff supports you in assessing what you are learning about your interests and yourself! Here’s what a recent Intern had to say about his experience: “After interviewing, I chose a photo print shop based on the shop’s atmosphere and my strong interest in photography. I had only studied photography once, in a high school class, but I did fairly well - it just came naturally to me. The people working at the printing shop edit and print film and do set up for professional photography shoots. I had responsibilities in each of these areas so I got a lot of great experience. I learned all about studio lighting and saw the work of so many professional photographers. This inspired my own work and helped me focus my photography on portraitures."
